I agree with michael about AVG anti-virus, though since we run a retail computer repair shop here as well, i will say there are better choices for anti-spyware/spamwar/malware than pest patrol.

We have tested extensively the following products:
pest patrol
alluria software's "Spyware Eliminator"
Norton products
Trend Micro Internet Security 2006
Sunbelt-Software's Counter Spy


In our testing the best Anti-virus protection was offered by Trend-Micro's PC-Cillin, though the spyware protector included in this package should be disabled as it is a new product offering from ttrend micro and not up to par yet.

The best by far anti-spyware/malware program was hands down Counter Spy from Sunbelt-Software.
