Default product attributes - "option type" dropdown missin

In this wiki doc: http://oscdox.com/modules.php?op=mod...ptionTypeSetup

it says, "Set the Option Type equal to 'Text'. This is done using the option type dropdown. (If you don't see an option type dropdown, then you likely didn't install the admin files that came with this feature.)"

I don't see an option type dropdown. I'm wondering where these admin files are that came with the "Product Attributes" feature. All I did was install a normal OSCMax (RC2) install, I wan't aware of any extra admin files that needed installing in order for all of the mods to work.

Anyway, if anyone could point me to these files so that I could install them, that'd be great, thank you

Option type feature is not in osCMax2. It is only in v1.7. It was removed due to a conflict with Quantity tracking Pro...

I see. Is there a way that I can hack the code in order for me to get a text entry box without it conflicting? If so, what would I have to change?

Will this be fixed in the final release of osCMax 2?

No, it is not broken, so it will not be fixed. The feature was dropped from v2.0.

I'm afraid I don't understand. How is it not broken? Customers now cannot order any items that require custom text -- unless there is an alternate way to do that that I don't know about.

Broken implies that the feature is there but not working, which is not the case.

The feature (option type feature contribution) is not present in the v2.0 codebase.

Hi ,

I am now working on making the attrib type work with the attrib stock. I'll keep you posted on the development.

But i can't find the place where i can set the stock for each of the attributes (other than directly into the database).
If you could help, i would be much obliged.

Ady

Ady, I don't think there's a specific place in the admin panel for updating the stock for each of the attributes, I haven't found it myself.

However, I am interested in your work on the attrib types, please keep me posted.

To set stock for attributes you first have to enable stock tracking when you create the attribute by checking the 'Track Stock' checkbox on the attributes creation page.

Then, in the Categories/Products list in the admin, select a product and click the stock button. Any attributes assigned will show up on that page and you can enter in how many items there are.

I think I got QTPRO and OPTION TYPE working TOGETHER!!!!!! However I am not using the QTPRO new class (cause it can ONLY handle/load one type of attrib:text, button, or dropdown ... and OPTION TYPE can use more than one - CASCADING/SEQUENCED ATTRIBS from QTPRO DOES NOT WORK!)

Took the STOCK part out of QTPRO and put in in OPTION TYPE - howver to do so I had to uninstall QTPRO and work backwards..... Most is at version v4.1 - however one part (the conflick part) is mostly v3.1 with som of the v4.1 stuck in...

Still working on it to see if I can get the Sequenced Attribs part in...
