Need longer text attribute field during checkout

All,

I am building a store that requires a customer to provide their own words for a card or invitation during the check out process.

In other words, they must be able to customize their card, invitation, or stationery during the purchase process.

Can someone point me in the right direction in order to implement this type of a change?

If it's something I am supposed to do through the database, what is the proper record type and the maximum field length.

This contribution is NOT included in baseline OscMax 2.0 and I really need it. I have read another thread that says it conflicts with the "Track Stock" contribution (which I don't need).

The whole "conflict" concept scares me about moving ahead with trying to incorporate the contribution on my own. I mean if Michael and jpf can't do it, how could I ever do it?

Has anybody done it successfully?

I am DEFINITELY crying out for help here!

QTPro changed the block of code need - maid it very complex....I have tried merging the code - have not got it to work yet..... Still trying - need time to spend on it.
