Problems with Shipping Tax

Hello,

I have a problem in checkout_confirmation screen:

shipping is set to 2,00 EUR (which means including VAT)

If the customer buys e.g. a product for 9,00 € he will get in checkout_confirmation

Sub-Total: 9,00EUR
shipping: 2,38EUR
Total: 11,38EUR
included VAT (19%): 2,14EUR

So here the shipping is shown as 2,00 + 19%VAT=2,38EUR
Additionally the result for VAT 2,14EUR is not 19% of 11,38EUR

In includes/modules/order_total/ot_shipping.php I have found the following lines that somehow deal with it. But I have no idea what to do. Can anybody help, please? And does anybody else have the same problem?

Which shipping module are you using? They should all have taxable/non taxable settings.

What are the sort orders in your order totals?

I use flat rate shipping. Now I set it to non taxable wich leads me to a wrong "VAT included" at the end:
the shipping price is correct but the included VAT (19%) contains only the subtotal VAT so shipping is not included.

Sub-Total: 9,00EUR
shipping: 2,00EUR
Total: 11,00EUR
included VAT (19%): 1,44EUR (should be 1,76EUR since VAT is included in Sub-Total and Shipping)

Since I have Sub-Total including tax it should also show shipping including tax. And at the end the included tax should be calculated from sub-total and shipping.

I just found out, that this problem is connected with an add on I recently installed that adopts osc to some special requirements of the german market. So I will contact the author and post any results here.

I have to reopen that issue because I am stuck and I found other shops online, that seem to have the same problem:

I use flat rate shipping. (But it is the same with other shipping modules, I tried it)
Now I set the module to taxable and enter the shipping fee net.
The shipping price on checkout_shipping-screen is shown correct in gross.
On checkout_confirmation screen the shipping price is wrong, it has the value of "net x VAT x VAT".
Additionally the "included VAT"-value shown on checkout_confirmation screen is the VAT of the sum of subtotal and total. But here it should include the shipping.

This is what I get:
Sub-Total: 9,00EUR
shipping: 2,00EUR
Total: 11,38EUR
included VAT (19%): 2,14EUR (should be 1,76EUR since VAT is included in Sub-Total and Shipping)

The order-Confirmation-E-Mail lists the correct numbers:
Artikel:
1 x product () = 9,00EUR
-----------------------------------------------------
Sub-Total: 9,00EUR
Shipping (): 2,00EUR
Total: 11,00EUR
included VAT (19%): 1,76EUR

Now I have searched for the file where VAT and Shipping are calculated. I found includes/classes/order.php which might be the right file but my trial-and-error-approach was unsuccessful.
Would be happy about new ideas.

Well - you haven't answered my question ... What are your order total sort orders?

Try putting the Tax higher up in the sort order.

sorry pgmarshall, I have missed your question.

order total sort order is

1 subtotal
2 shipping
3 total
4 tax

problem is, that shipping is already shown in wrong amount: 1.68EUR plus tax is set in shipping module, 2.00EUR is shown in checkout-shipping and 2.38EUR is shown in checkout-confirmation. Here 2.00EUR would be correct.

Sounds like the tax is being added twice - try turning off the tax in your shipping module and putting in the pre-tax amount. Regards.

That's true, tax is added twice on checkout_confirmation. But in the customer notification E-mail the tax is shown correctly.

If I turn of the tax in shipping module the shipping I get the wrong VAT at the end since shipping is shown with correct price but not included into total VAT (allthough in order total order tax is set to the highest level).

So the problem has to be found where shipping for checkout_confirmation is calculated. Couldn't I replace this with the calculation that is made for the E-mail order notification? But how and where?
