i like the layout of your (pgm) template but it doesnt seem to function right with 2.5 beta 3.

i did upload it to 2.0.25 and it seems to work great..the only problem is... it doesnt use the new image pop-up ..it loads enlarged images on a new page.

It won't work in v2.5! It was attempt at adding functionality I wanted to the v2.0.25 ... most of which is now in the core of v2.5.

Image popup should work ... but I have not checked ...

If I get time before v2.5 launch I will try but I am quite busy fixing the bugs at the moment ... I will let you know or release after v2.5.

I assume it is the Suckerfish menu and drop down cart that you like?

    Regards,

It is probably worth playing around with v2.5 rather than v2.0.25 ... you could help us find a few outstanding bugs ...

The suckerfish menu and drop down should cut and paste in if you want to give it a try ...

    OY! no!

The process of changing a store from one version of osCmax (2.0.X) to osCmax 2.5 is not one of just laying one set of source on top of another.

There have been major changes to the database, major changes to core functionality, etc. Although I have serious doubts that there will be a complete guide or program to move from osCmax 2.0.X to osCmax 2.5 RC1, I do know that any number of us will b doing it over the course of the months following the release and that a decent WIKI will be produced that provides an excellent starting point. Remember that for many people osCmax 2.0.X was also just the base upon which they built their stores, and that many have augmented their stores with additional mods that they will either have to incorporate or leave behind in the upgrade (one of the benefits of open source, and one of the drawbacks when it comes time to upgrade).

My suggestion to anyone who is looking at upgrading their store from a prior release of osCmax (any prior release) to 2.5 is to start looking at 2.5 in it's current release (understand that it is still beta). Download it, install it, play with it. See what it can do.Match it to how you work your store now, and see how it differs, what new features it has and how your would benefit from incorporating them into your business process. Also look at what mods you may have installed and see if there is similar functionality in 2.5 that you want to leverage, or if you will need to have 2.5 moded to meet your business processes.

2.4 Beta 3 is very stable. It still had a number of MINOR issues (see the bugtracker) and the bug team has been working hard to get RC1 as defect free as possible. It IS a very major upgrade (that's why it went from 2.0.X to 2.5 rather than 2.1 as was initially planned). By taking the time to work on 2.5 Beta 3 now you will develop familiarity with the many changes in the application and have a much better understanding of what you will need to do t make the upgrade in terms of using the software and making any changes to your current business processes to support the enhancements that have been made to the core.
    so endith the lesson
    <think>sometimes I just sit's and thinks</think>
