using max as just a product visual - no ordering?

I've spent over a 1/2 hour browsing around here looking to see if someone has asked this but I can't find anything..

I am now so used to using oscmax that I need to update 2 sites and am seriosuly considering using max to update them both - both are product lines, no sales, sales are directed to their distributors

Seeing as how I already do the distributors site - I have the images, the descriptions, all that is needed.. this would be my smartest move.. tweak up a template and I'm just about done..

I'm thinking to use Call For Price, make the displaid notice say: "Ordering Information" and link that to an article page with the distributor list

I think the only thing holding the theory back is the add to cart buttons...

Actually.. playing around in my dev cart yes it might work..

Configuration > Product Listing
set Display Buy Now column to zero

and together with Call For Price mod, the add to cart button doesnt show up.. the "continue shopping" button would need to be reworded to "continue browsing"
The info boxes would have to be set to NOT show the login.. or maybe leave that.. allow for wish lists.. grow database of interested parties..

Any other ideas out there??

Turn off the Shopping Basket infobox, set all your stock to 0, then simply remove the add to cart from the template ... I would comment it out rather then delete ... just in case they change their minds and start to want selling!
