    Post Re: Modifying Easypopulate to work with MSRP

    It just so happens, at this minute, I'm trying to establish for definite whether is is EPF or PEF that has been implemented in 2.5, as this has a direct bearing on the resolution. I'm sure that I can help PGM resolve this.

    What is irritating is the insistence that this be fixed right now, not a minute to lose. Just in case a salient point has gone 'whoosh' overhead: This is BETA software, not General Release, not even a Release Candidate. This is NOT to be used on a live store, so what is the rush? Version 2.5 has literally been months in the making, so the expectations of some newbies on here is utterly unrealistic.

    There, I've spelled it out, for those who can't cope with subtlety - now to step off my soapbox again and chill; trying to do something constructive in between the wash of trivia (i.e. sporadic feature requests/questions on functionality that can be found by searching & wiki) and other LIVE projects.

    OK. It's defo EPF (as described, guess where? the wiki).
    I've had a 30 minute look and think I see where the core of the functionality is. I'll try to take timeout from other tasks to progress this feature set further, in conjunction with PGM/bugtacker.
    This is to principally address the title of the thread (MSRP) but will help to familiarise m'self with the EP structure.

    Well, good luck on the project and I look forward to the resolution. I do not think either myself or Richard was looking for instant results....we posted on the forum to see if anyone had ideas - which is what it is for, isn't that correct? Once it was posted that a resolution was being worked on, no one said another thing....so, if you took offense to anything, that's on you. Even us newbies are working to find solutions as well.

    I am sure we will all wait until things are ironed out.

    Just FYI, I am not using this beta version on a live shop...nor would I....I will say that not everything is in the wiki's, so, that isn't always the BEST place to look. Searching on these forums and on the osc forums can often find some of the answers to the more basic questions....sorry if you are frustrated but taking it out on the people on the forum, particularly me lately is not really professional or called for. Not everyone is as technically saavy as you, or PGM or Michael, so perhaps a little patience is required.

    Thanks for all of the work that everyone is doing on this. No one is looking for an immediate or instant solution, and when its ready its ready. From my perspective I am actually using 2.5 Beta 2 on a live site, however as I only have 2 customers currently that order via the onliine site I am more than ok with that risk. Worst case scenario, they will call with an order if need be.

    Given that fact, I think its actually a good test from my perspective. Yes I do realise that some things are still not working 100% correctly, however for the pieces that I currently use, except for EP, all appears to be working extremely well from my perspective.

    All in all I only have about 150 products up, and mainly use EP to update quantities so if I have to do it manually right now, then that's ok.

    I am just about to head off traveling once again for work purposes, but when I get back will download the latest beta and update. Should not pose too many issues once I consolidate the couple of extra scripts that I have added such as PDF invoice and a couple of other shipping / payment options.

    I will say, the wiki is always the best starting point when you have questions. Why? If you search and find your question is not answered, add it (the question or topic, not the answer). If the topic is there but incomplete, add a note to the page with your specific topic.

    Then, if your question is not answered in the wiki, go to the forums or google or wherever your search leads you, and if/when you find your answer, go back to the wiki and either paste in the solution or just link to the solution. Now you have contributed documentation by finding your answer which you would have done anyway. With just an extra few minutes of effort, you went from a consumer/user to a contributer/developer.

    As for the personality and culture clashes here in the forums, we are all big kids here. Work it out. Keep it civil. If anyone has offended you, just ignore it, most likely it is just a difference in communication style.

    Except for met00 - if you are offended by something he posts, he meant for you to be offended by it.

    So I am not sure if this issue has been resolved. I took a look at the bug tracker and am I supposed to replace the file with the one provided in the bugtracker?

    Hi- I also have had this problem with EasyPopulate - after downloading the complete file it wont upload. I found the problem to be with TABLE_PRODUCTS_GROUPS. Easypopulate thinks it only has fields: customers_group_id ; customers_group_price ; products_price ; and products_id. It has 2 more - products_qty_blocks ; products_min_order_qty . This is why it throws an error when trying to put data into the table. I modified easypopulate.php SPPC section as follows:

    if ($v_customer_price_1 != ''){
    $result = tep_db_query('
    INSERT INTO
    '.TABLE_PRODUCTS_GROUPS.'
    VALUES
    (
    ' . $v_customer_group_id_1 . ',
    ' . $v_customer_price_1 . ',
    ' . $v_products_id . ',
    ' . $v_products_price . ',
    ' . $v_products_qty_blocks_1 . ',
    ' . $v_products_min_order_qty_1 . '
    )'
    );
    }

    and repeated it for 2,3, and 4. Also added v_products_qty_blocks_1 and v_products_min_order_qty_1 etc as column headings in the upload file. It probably needs to be polished but it worked, and you can now specify min qty for different pricing levels. Also the field products_price seems redundant in this table and could possibly be removed.

    I've added a comment for 2.5 in the bugtracker (which isn't loading for me just now).
