Any reason to? Get your customer to do a "forgotten password" request from the site.
Normally customers create their own accounts and you will not know the password.
[It could do with a password reset in Admin]

Hi, thanks for the reply. This is my first time with OSCmax so I'm just covering things my client might ask. You're right, of course, customers can click forgotten password.
    Regards

with the ability to "login" as the customer in the admin, there is no need. Just "login" as the customer and reset the password.

Did I miss something - this is available in 2.0.25, as standard?

my bad, it's in 2.5...in 2.25 I don't have a "clean" version as all my versions have superuser password, so I just log in as the customer with the superuser password (master password mod).
