Currency issue £ sign not showing

Hi,
Ive set up GDP as per instructions (V2.0.25) and currency looks fine on my 'Home/ Top' page. Martial-Arts-Supplies.co.uk :
When I click on a product to see more detail, Martial-Arts-Supplies.co.uk : Standard Spot Body Armour [4701] - 25.00 the £ sign vanishes and I am left with a white square where the £ should be.
Any ideas?

This is a problem with the sql database. We had a similar problem and when we looked at the database the actual symbol was totally different to the £ symbol - something like Ae. This is because the sql database sees the £ symbol as 2 characters. When we changed it to £ then we got the square box on the website. We changed it back by going to admin-localisation-currencies. There you can specify that the symbol left is £ sign. Everything then works ok except for emails and pdf invoices. When we moved to a faster server everything worked fine so it might be worth contacting your hosting company. Note that old orders will not change from square box to £ when you do this - only the new ones.
