Default Problem with affiliate sales not registering when using PayPal Standard

I'm setting up a shop using osCMax v2.0.25 and have managed to get through most problems on my own, but now I'm stumped at problems with affiliate payments.

Our whole store runs on PayPal, no other payment modules, and in general it works fine, but if a client clicks through an affiliate link and then uses PayPal to purchase the product, the affiliate is not credited with a sale. There was an old forum thread about this back in v2.0.4 or something which said to test the "dummy" credit card thing first, and that did actually work, the affiliate did get credited just fine if the test customer used the CC payment method, so things aren't completely broken... But I need it to work with PayPal as well. Any ideas, anybody? Anybody with the same problem?

Try paypal IPN instead of Paypal standard and let me know if you still see the issue.

Unfortunately still the same even with PayPal IPN. The transaction goes through nicely, the order status ends up as "Paid", but the affiliate is still not credited with the sale, only a "visit" from the banner...

I will double check my test install. The usual issue is that paypal modules have to use their own separate checkout process file, and the affiliate routine most likely has not been added to the paypal files.

If you don't feel like waiting for me to confirm, look in checkout_process.php for any affiliate related code and then verify that it is also in the the ipn.php or paypalipn.php files (there are a couple of places to check - the /includes/modules/payment directory and the /ext/modules/payment/paypal and paypal_ipn directories).

I had a look and there doesn't seem to be anything affiliate-related in the ext/modules/payment/ files, so that's probably it. I tried fiddling with them and adding the affiliate bit in there, but unfortunately PHP isn't something I'm familiar with so I couldn't make it work... Will wait until somebody more qualified has a look at it.
