Yes, you need to create a new account in the bugtracker. It is not linked to the forums in any way - completely separate.

Since this is not a major issue ... so if I was you I would wait for the stable release ... but if you are desperate to fix it then just remove the lines in red and add the lines in green.

any idea when v2.5 will be released?
will i be able to upgrade to 2.5 from 2.0? or will i have to start over?

We do not have firm dates for 2.5, but a release candidate (potential stable release) is about a month away. Yes you will be able to upgrade a 2.0.25 store directly to 2.5 and the process will be fairly painless.
