adding vendor column to oscmax 2.1

in the development of 2.1 would it be possible to add a column to easy populate that will provide a vendor code per product?

this will make it easier to administrate stores with products from multiple vendors, and make a way to calculate shipping costs when products are being shipped from multiple warehouses. and also, a way to allow printing of .pdf invoices per vendor.

also, the allowable size of the easy populate product model number should be increased to at least 24, and the product name size allowance increased to 128, and the category name size allowance to 128.

in oscmax 2.03, the current batch_orders mod is broken but i am attaching here an enhanced batch_print with all the errors fixed, maybe it can be added to oscmax 2.1. see attached.

2.0.25 already has an increased model size to 24, along with increased image size, which will likely be added to 2.1 in due course.

Product/Category names would be kinda excessive at 128 (IMO, 64 maybe) but a review of them could be in order.

In 2.1 I could throw in the distributors table to the update of categories.php. This matches the manufacturers table that is already there and allows you to define a distributor for each product (I have it already hacked into BIAosCMax so adding it shouldn't be too much of a problem). I'll pass it by the development team.

hard coded easypop is a dead idea. You should be able to state what you want to "download" and then get a template for uploading from the products already in the database.

A key issue to address is the fact that the "key" in easypop is the model number. Yet, OSC allows you to have duplicate model numbers (unlinked duplicate products with the same model number). This has been a discussion point in osCMax 2.1 development and will continue to be so as we work on a comprehensive solution that will allow for easypop to understand the unique items in the cart even when they have duplicate model numbers.

Does anyone have a true ETA for version 2.1? I have been out of the forms for a few months now and just trying to get back up to speed.

No official ETA. The development team is still working out many of the details.

But, I can say that it is a MAJOR series of changes, especially on the admin side. I'm almost willing to debate if it's 2.1 or 3.0, but I'll leave that for another day.

I just wanted to update my response. Will provide us a true understanding of the status and ETA of the 2.1 currently set for osCMax - v2.1 (Scheduled For Release 2010-06-01).

I would like to know if I upgrade to 2.0.25 if it will be an easy upgrade to 2.1. I have a very modded. I don't want to upgrade to the lower version if within 2 months the new version will be available.
