moving boxes to the header or footer, not left or right ?

Hello,

How do I move the search box completely out of the way, not left or right, but somewhere else, like the header.

And same for the information box, how do I move it to the footer, for instance?

Information box links for the most part are just html links (written in PHP) that go to non-product pages, so simply find your links under catalog/includes/boxes/information.php and stick them in your main_page.php under your /templates/ directory.

As far as moving your search box to the top of the page, easy enough - disable the search box under your admin->Infobox Admin window and see if this thread helps you out - How to add a search box in the header of osCommerce - osCommerce Community Support Forums
