Question manually authorize a payment for quoted orders

Is it possible to manually authorize a payment from the back of the store to authorize.net? meaning that if we need to create an "quoted" order that is different from the store front's regular pricing, we can add or deduct the cost from the manual order maker and then submit that order to authorize. is this ability limited to certain payment modules or at all? thanks! bh

    BH,

order that is different from the store front's regular pricing,
I know the angle you are appoaching, as I had done it in the past...but I built a form to "build a product" and post to a DB that was separate from the cart DB itself.

    Then, you may

    a) "Create a New Product/Category" using decriptive name unique for the like QUOTES

    b) Then go to your Front End...grab the URL

    c) Turn OFF the item as available...as if I remember correct, that's just display..in InfoBox admin...that CAtegory etc...and using the ID number, you can then send them the "hidden-private" link...and they then proceed to give you the $$$ via Authnet.

I think what you're after..is kinda like taking the $$$ first...and adjusting after the fact...and could really only be done with custom scripting and would be a mess I think to interject into this.

You can log into authorize.net to process a charge and key your order in the backend. I usually just change the price and run it through the front end then change the price back.

Doing it John's way works... but creating the 'custom quoted item' will allow you to keep in the cart the record of the sale.

    And doing as he says
    Change the price back
you would lose intelligent information of the sale.

To me, the great part is the record keeping
