Free Shipping without a coupon

Hi,
i am currently running osCMax2 and am wondering if there's a way to offer free shipping for a product without having a "0" weight or forcing the customer to use a coupon.

I am selling a "pre-order" item with the incentive of free shipping when the product comes out. I am also offering select purchasers an additional discount if they use a coupon.

Currently, i am using a "0" weight to get around this, but the store skips the shipping page with a "0" weight and so i have no shipping address for when the product actually does ship in December.


Any suggestions?

Possibly install the individual shipping module and assign $0.00 dollars to the shipping amount for each product in the admin? this way the can set the normal weight for each product? If its free shipping for any product or any order on your site initially, I think you can just set shipping to free or 0 on the total within modules tab in the admin?
