To Keep or not to Keep that is the question

Hello OscMax Forum. You guys are awesome for support.

I was thinking i have a bunch of modules that i do not use should i just delete them or is it alright to have them sit there. These modules i refer to are payment, shipping and languages mainly. Should i remove the files and just comment or delete them out of the includes files or what is the best practice in this regards. Does it hurt to have them sitting there? Potential security risk?

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

PS: I am a noob still but learning very quickly.

As long as your chmod settings are correct (Michael & JohnW's posts) there is no problem leaving them where they are ...

I am personally going to remove the language files - just because I won't use them and when I do a site update through dreamweaver it has to check them all to see if they have changed.

I would leave the shipping and payments modules behind - you never know when you might change to a new supplier ...

Sofort.... references in Admin are a pain (which I quickly remove), along with unused language files(/currency). Cutting down on the available shipping/payment processors does save some confusion for clients. I would like to find time to remove the Fedex manifest but would prefer to get PayPal Express to work first!
