Vanishing Product Pics

For some reason many of my products "lose" their pics. I check my server and they are right where they should be. So I re-upload them and then they magically reappear. Not a big deal except that I have several thousand products and the upload takes a long time.

Anyone else had this problem?

What happens on the product page when they 'lose' their image? If the image is on the server, have the permissions been changed?

These images usually disappear after I do some kind of EasyPopulate update. The products still show up with the appropriate stock levels etc. It's just as if somehow the database doesn't recognize the image file. Do a fresh upload and it's back. Very strange.

You failed to mention that easypopulate was involved in the problem, quite a significant omission of info.

You should inspect the changes that occur to the image field/path in the database when you update easypopulate.

You should verify that all the image extensions (.jpg, .gif) are all lower case. I have seen this trip up even experienced linux users. The difference in case will cause this type of issue.

My bad...

I have not yet verified that it only follows an EasyPopulate update. But I have verified that there is no change to the file name or path. That's the weird part. When I download the path and filename and extension are all correct (and I know I've done the upper/lower case, slight change in image name etc.). But this will happen with a pic that was working and then not.

Anyway just wondered it maybe there was some obvious patch I'd overlooked...guess not and back to the drawing board.

No I have not come across this particular issue before. If you have a product that is currently doing this, post the url so I can check it out.

Verifiy if there are any Spaces (or NULL charater etc...) in the SQL or ANY capitals in the file name or SLQ. Should be all lower case.
