| Hi, Has anyone run into this.... We just realized that the system is adding a pound to the shipping weight. So, when we receive the feed from the USPS it has the wrong calculation for the postage. Everything in the store are prints and we have the weight set to 1.00 pound. So for US shipping it should be only $4.80. But with the additional pound getting added our customers are paying more and depending on the zip code it can vary. Any ideas? Thanks! E |

| Admin >> Configuration >> Shipping/Packaging >> Package Tare Weight set to 0 instead of 1.

| Wow, that was quick! Many thanks for the response! I did as you recommend and it almost worked. Or at least it is working but not the way I have it set up currently. Now I'm getting 1.1 pounds which still puts me over. I think that I may know why or at least how to work around the issue. I will need to set all of the weights in the catalog to .5 pounds. I've tested it. But the .1 pounds has me. I think that I saw in the usps.php code that "usps doesn't accept zero weight" so it looks like it's adding the .1 there. Assuming that it's using the tare weight in its calculation. Either way I'm still getting the extra .1 lbs. What say you? E Last edited by Edk67; 09-17-2008 at 03:41 PM. |

| No idea there, sorry. Perhaps someone else has encountered this issue too. Search the forums or google and see what you can come up with.

| Hi Michael, I have and you answer was the best so far. What I'm going to do is set the tare to .5 pounds which is probably about right and the prints to .5 pounds which may be a little heavy but still it will be at the 1 pound mark. Thanks for your help, Ed |

| We are right in the middle of the final push for RC4, so I am a bit short on time right now. When I get a little more time to investigate, I will do so. Good workaround though, that should work for a band-aid.

| Yes most shipping company interfaces like UPS or USPS - can't except ZERO weight. Packaging can't weigh zero. Rounding issues may all so account for the .1lbs. As well they may be making sure something that is close to an even lbs - is atlease on or just over...

| I too am getting the .1 added to the weight (which is no big deal really) but still, why should it assume and put a .1. Don't think assumptions should be made like this in the code - I don't want the .1 there asi puts the weight calculations out but how do I get rid of it. |
