I've been searching, and haven't found the answer...does oscmax have the ability to have both products and subscriptions (similar to the product Freeway)?

I'm currently using oscommerce, but would like to update if I can.

Default Re: Subscriptions

If subscriptions = recurring charges, no. osCMax does not do automated recurring charges.

Smile Re: Subscriptions

In order to do recurring payments, then, I understand I can set such up in PayPal IPN. Can I use PayPal IPN with oscmax? How difficult would it be to establish? (I'm still trying to figure it out with oscommerce.)

Also, Would I be able to set up two categories - 1 - Products (books) that may or may not have prices, and would need to be put on a wishlist, and 2 - Subscriptions, where these would be only added to a cart.

I can do this in oscommerce, but they are handled as products for both. I would like to have subscriptions as its own separate product type, if possible.

Thanks for your quick response for my previous question, michael_s!

Default Re: Subscriptions

osCMax has Paypal IPN built in. It works out of the box for most users, but some configurations seem to have quite a few problems, depending on other modules that are configured, etc. Check out the paypal forums if you run into issues with it.

osCMax has a wishlist built in, and items on the wish list can be moved to the cart at any time.

I believe osCMax would handle the products the same way as standard osCommerce. I am not entirely clear as to whether or not the setup you want is possible, I don't think I fully understand the pricing requirement.
