Default Easy_Populate Image Issue

I've got EP working with a "complete" EP file coming in from Filemaker Pro. The only thing is, the product image doesn't show.

I ftp'd the images to the correct folder. When I "edit" a newly imported product the proper image filename is showing under the "products image" field. When viewing the products listing under the Categories screen, the summary info on the right side gives the image name OK but says "image does not exist" even though it is in the image directory. If I edit the product and manually "upload" the image it displays fine. I don't really understand what the upload is doing as the time/date stamp on the image file (on host) does not update. Yet the cart now sees it as "existing".

Can someone please explain? When using Easy_Populate do you have to manually upload the pic? If so, why have the pic field in EP??

1. Yes you have to manually upload the image file.

2. Why have the pic field? So that EP can properly populate the database with the location of the image. All EP does is put a path in the database. It does not upload any image files. You still have to actually put the image where EP thinks it will be.

I had uploaded the image via FTP. The image is there. In fact, I'm currently using an <img> tag in the description to display it at bottom of description.

So the image is present via FTP. The path is given via Easy_Populate. But the image reports as "not present" unless I actually use the admin upload.

Post the actual problem and solution so others can benefit from your experience. Just posting 'Solved' without an explanation is not a good way to close a thread.

The problem was due to a mis-interpretation of the "Dynamic_Mo_Pics" documentation (which I'm working on at the same time). An option in the "Dynamic_Mo_Pics" seemed to indicated that I could store my main product pics in a "thumb" folder. I had set the option to do so. However, osCmax was still looking for images at the main "images" level (and not in any subfolder).

The Mo_Pics option in question is 'Main Thumbnail in "Thumbnail_Images_Directory"' which I had set to TRUE. I was uploading my images to that Thumbnail directory. Even thought set TRUE I still had to put my main images at the "Images" level and not in a subfolder.

So, what Mo_Pics calls a "Main thumbnail" I don't know...
