can I use OsCMAX with productcatalogue of 250 000 products and up?

Dear OscMax user,


I recently started working with Oscommerce and discovered that Oscommerce has difficulties handling very large product databases (up to 100 000 products and more), osc becomes slow when using a large products db. Well I'm planning to build a webshop with a product catalogue of about 250 000 products and asked around in the forums of oscommerce if this can be done with oscommerce online merchant version 2.2 see the thread :oscommerce db with over 250 000 products not working - osCommerce Community Support Forums

Well shortly stated the osc experts say that this can be done with the appropriate knowledge/ speedup modules / a dedicated server etc etc. But they couldn't give me any example of osc sites with over 100 000 products

So my question to you all. Is oscMax the appropriate cms to use when I want to setup a webshop with a catalogue with about 250 000 products. With what kind of issues do I need to take care when trying to set up a oscmax site of this size. And does someone has links of oscmax sites of this size and larger ?
