Default What does REQUEST_AUTHENTICATION (RA) stand for?

On the admin panel, when I see my customer accounts on site.com/admin/customers.php?selected_box=customers I see the following fields:

Company name, surname, name, customer group, account creation date, RA, action

What is that RA supposed to be? I would say that only does that have put a tax_id number when creating their account have this active... And by active I mean a red circle showing here, which looks like something it could be clicked so it would turn green, but it does not.

Thx!

Ok, I assume this has something to do with SPPC contribution and tax_id...?

When a customer creates an account and adds a tax_id, I get an email as admin that lets me know, "please note that mr.x of the company whatever has created an account".

I thought how nice, this is so I can check if I have to add them to the wholeseller group or something...

Now I have also found this code on address_book_process.php which shows me that when someone adds a tax_id on his account, I should also receive an email, AND the 'customers_group_ra' flag on his account gets set to 1.

So I think my question has to do with this, the RA and the red circle mean that the customer is waiting for my validation, or something. Question is, how would I do that? How would his RA be set back to 0?

I use SPPC you would click on edit customer and in the box company details check the alert off button which resets it to zero

Nice to know, I kinda remember seeing that on/off setting before, but not knowing what it does.

Any hints on that? Like, with "alert on" are we gonna get an email each time one of this accounts logs in, or what?

Thx!

Nope: One of the problems is you only get an email when they create an account and enter a tax number. The reason for this is if you wholesale to a business you need there resale tax number so you can sell to them wholesale for resale only. You then can verify that they are an actual business and turn the alert off and switch them to the wholesale customer group so they get the special pricing. It would be nice to receive an email anytime someone creates an account since even some real businesses are either to lazy to go look up there number or just are not sure which tax number you need. I check new customers everyday but could activate the price group for the new customer quicker if notifed by emails for all new accounts. I have 3 pricing levels and no one sees prices until I activate them.

Good to know, thanks for that answer.

Guess I don't have to worry then about those RA setings or the emails I receive, for now I do not have different prices and do not have to validate any business or tax numbers.

I am sure it can not be too difficult to make it so that on sign up you get warned, no matter if they put a tax_id or not.
