Question - AlgoZone and osCMax Templates

I am wanting to purchase a template or so from AlgoZone for my website(s), and I have osCMax v2-RC3 installed for my site(s), but the only version AlgoZone lists their templates as compatible with is osCMax v2-RC2.

Are all the osCMax templates available on AlgoZone 100% compatible with osCMax v2-RC3?

Also, are the AlgoZone templates fully modifiable/editable?

Inexperienced, but trying, I am in the process of putting together a online store for a women's clothing store. The owner and I looked at an agreed on the look of a template(OSCommerce 2.2) from Template Monster. However, in the meantime, I learned the wonders of OSCMax and have successfully installed OSCMax, experimented with EP, and turned on specific features ( many thanks to these posts !!)

I am assuming that the best course of action will be to complete my database upload with images, and then apply an OSCMax template. Am I correct in assuming that my universe will collapse if I try to install an OSCommerce template into my OSCMax ?? Also; if a template only shows "single column" product listings in the live demo, can it simply be changed to multiple columns ??

I highly recommend that you DO NOT install an osCommerce template into your osCMax shop, due to all the customization that osCMax contains. Only use osCMax templates with osCMax.

Use AlgoZone for your templates!

Template Monster has been known to be shady when it comes to running business; bad customer service, templates not being up-to-date, etc.

Lets not make any sweeping negative claims about other companies here. If you have direct experience of a problem with template monster, feel free to post, but please, no unfounded generalizations or hearsay.

We use both template monster and algozone and have been very satisifed. I have personally purchased 5 templates from template monster for different projects, and have been very satisfied with both their service and the templates. I have not run into any shady practices, they have always been upfront with me and the templates have been delivered with everything as advertised.

As for templates made for standard osCommerce installed to osCMax, unless you are expert at both php and html, I do not recommend this. You also have to understand the BTS template system, as the template would need to be converted to this format...

This is not an easy project, and darn near impossible for a beginner. You would be better off following the advice of Invizix and getting an oscmax specific template, unless you know what you are getting into...

2nd part of question - If the template live demo shows single column product listings, can it be changed to multiple without messing up the template too much??

That depends on the actual template but usually it is not a problem.

I purchased a two-column template from the osCMax store, and saw that there were actually PHP files for the left and right columns (the right being empty). All I did was paste over some code from the left column to the right column, and it appeared. However, the stylesheets for the right column was lacking. But it just goes to show that you can make a 2 column template into 3.

I bought a template from osCMax called: Template ID: OS06E00082

I have it installed on my max cart but when I went into tools to infobox to choose which boxes I wanted to show it's not working. What can I do to fix this, I'm new at this but leaning as I go.
