Question - AlgoZone and osCMax Templates

First, you need to contact the template guys and see if there is a problem with your installation... Use the Request Support box on this page:

It depends on what template you are using, from my understanding. They told me, that some infoboxes are hardcoded in, and cannot be changed from the admin side. You may have to go directly in the file and comment it out or add your code so it works.

Though, they may have changed this after they updated their templates. I'm not sure.

Which also leads me to the question -- are the mods/projects that you have posted in the "projects" section compatible with these templates? (i really want the customer rewards mod installed) I don't want to get into hard-coding....but will algozone support modification to support these functions? Anyone have experience with that?

Regarding the additional mods in the forums, they are not part of osCMax distro, so the templates may or may not be compatible. If there are added template pages, you will need to add them to your custom template from algozone...

So I did it -- I took the leap and paid for something that I feel I should be able to do.

On the other hand, I purchased the 2 templates and they are both yucky right out of the box! They don't look like the demos, don't use the same cutesy graphics and I've put in support tickets nearly 3 hours ago with no responses. Boy it's super disappointing! And I know that there is definitely no way to get money back for something that I purchased broken -- so now I'm infuriated!

one hint... when you put in the ticket, point then to this thread. If they know you are active in the forums and that you are talking about them the will do everything in their power to make sure that you last comment turns into one that they want people to see, not one that will push potential customers away.

You most likely just installed the template improperly. I have used about 100 different templates from them, and I have never once had a problem.

They always include ALL the graphics and features shown in the demo, so I am pretty sure the problem is that you did not properly install it.

Also note that they are not in the same timezone as you, so there will be a delay in response to tickets. Next day replies are a reasonable expectation, so you should adjust your expectations slightly.

There is no reason to get infuriated over such a minor issue. Take a deep breath, review the install documentation that came with the template and try again.

I have helped several people who insisted on these forums that the templates were defective, and each time it was the person that installed the template that made the mistake.

If you want me to take a look, PM me with the url of the site, make a limited FTP account for me and send the details. I would be happy to take a look at it for you.

thanks for the vote of confidence on Algozone's part. I'll PM you.

I followed the directions that were given after 3-4 attempts of understanding their "easy to use" install information.

Then I pointed to the script which was just to type it in.

Both templates show the same bogus appearance. There is also a typo in the dropdown box for "All categories". It states "All categries" on both templates. This has to be changed, too, but again it's probably an "install" issue on my part. I just need to know where I can fix that.
