| I am researching to find best pkg to meet my needs. FYI: I plan to purchase a template, redesign, install and get as far as I can before employing a developer -- as I stubborn as a mule Looking to create Printingshop - Must be able to modify as follows: Drop down quantities (not text input) 5,000, 10,000, 20,0000 w/ price breaks. Several Options - Paper Stock, Gloss Coat, Colors per side, etc. Price per piece in cents not dollars, with GRAND TOTAL in Dollars and per piece) Examples are found in great numbers - all my competition has it... | I am looking to create an onlinePRINTING store. Researching to find best ecom pkg and getting as far as possible, before hiring a developer to complete. I need the following: 1. Quantity (drop down): 5,000, 10,000, 15,000, - w/ price breaks. 2. Options (drop downs): Paper, Color, Size, etc. - adding to cost 3. Per Unit Price in US cents, with Grand Total = Per unit price / Dollars. The above are the bare bones needs. Any suggestions will be much appreciated -- (besides hire a trained professional!) Eventually, plan to incorporate an design online features... Thanks, Angie |

| 1. Yes, but price breaks is an addon. It is not there by default. 2. Options not an issue. Does this by default. 3. You would just set the price to whatever per unit, and it would look like $ .05 for five cents...

| On template monster they had a couple of templates (can't remember now for which ecom pkg) that had drop down option for a product in the demo version. Did that help or no...It doesn't really matter...I don't want to wear out my welcome as I will more than likely have genuine concerns once I install.... |

| That doesn't help me understand what you want exactly. At templatemonster, you cannot use standard osCommerce templates unless you are fully prepared to do some heavy duty hacking. Their osCommerce templates are basically the entire store, php and all. I recommend using an osCMax compatible template if you are not experieneced with converting to BTS (the osCMax template system).

| The drop down options panels are part of osCommerce. I would not purchase a template off of Template Monster for this purpose as you will be re-writing most of it to get it to work on your store. osCommerce hacking isn't for the faint of heart. It doesn't take much to put up a basic store front. But you will definitely need some coding skills to modify the cart or the look and feel if you are not using the integrated template option. The best thing to do is to put up a basic site with your content. Then back up your database. Then you will want to copy your entire store into a backup directory. (So you can quickly restore the original page that was modified) Once you have done all of that you are either A) Ready to start learning or B) Ready to rent a coder to help you out with your project. If you don't know how to make a database connection or work with PHP arrays I would go with option B and worry about promoting your business instead. - David |

| I see they offer templates/ skins via osCMax. Are they fully compliant and functional or quirky and more trouble? |

| The osCMax templates work correctly with osCMax...they drop in to the templates directory and you are good to go. Much easier install.
