Complex Products / Custom Attributes

I have some products that have more complex attributes. For example: a monogrammed item needs a field where the customer can enter some data that is then associated with that item only. Multiple items in the cart each have their own separate data.

How is this accomplished? Does a mod for this exist? If not where do I start looking for info on how I can write something for this?

There is not a mod for this currently that will work in osCMax 2. osCMax v1.7 has the text box feature, but it was dropped in v2 due to compatibility issues with the QT Pro mod.

You could start looking at the QT Pro mod itself as in the docs for it, the author gives recommendations on how to accomplish what you want. You can download the qtpro mod over at the osCommerce.com contributions section.
