categories and subcategories

I have rather a lot of products under subcategory titles under quite a few main categories and want to keep the column navigation tidy so i am looking at how to create a site using categories and subcategories like

The easy way would be edit your

templates/(Current Templete)/main_page.tpl.php

Setup the Categories you want and setup the hyperlinks

sorry to be a bit naive about this but could you give me an example of how to set the category and subcategory links to at least get me started.

After looking at your site the 1st thing you need to do in your admin section under Catalog click Categories / Products. Then click add New Category. Once you create that double click the category, inside there click New Products.

Let me know if thats what you are looking for....

How about explaining more clearly what exactly you want to achieve.

From your initial post, and the referenced websites, I cannot see anything special about them that points me to what you want to do.

Thanks - i think i've managed to answer my own question through taking the time to search the forum so i won't be too hasty in future about posting requests - i realised about the DHTML & Cool Menu options but now i have started to play with it i'm not sure what the difference between DHTML and Cool Menu is ?
