Welcome to OSC

The best and really only place to search for mods (contributions) is here http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions. Be careful before you apply any contributions, they are written for Oscommerce, not osCMax which has been heavily modified and uses a different template system. Always back up before you apply mods and do not overwrite files (you will break your store), the best way to do it is cut and paste using file comparison software, I use Beyond Compare.

Before posting on the forum, do a thorough search, chances are your question has been asked and answered before.

Suggestion - there is NO Layaway mod that I can find. Suggest using a payment module of:
Fax or Phone Credit Card Details through
COD (Cash On Delivery)
Cash
Cash on Pickup
Check/Money Order Module

MODIFY the TEXT for LAYAWAY. Find one that allow details (or add feilds) that you will need (like CC number and first payment amount etc...)
