Default Shipping page skipped on certain products

Hi,

Sorry if this is not the correct place, but I am using OSCMAX 2.0 and there is no general forum to discuss this.

My customer has been running her shop now for about 6 months. She has had issues with the occasional stock not changing when something is purchased, however I recently discovered that others who use the Paypal IPN are suffering the same issue so am waiting for some information on this.

Now, for no apparent reason, if I add 1 or more items from one specific category to my cart, go through checkout and the shipping page is missed out completely. Get to paypal and the total does not include shipping at all.

No mods, nothing at all has been done with the site backend or files for over 6 months, only the client adding more products to the site.

If I do the same with another category there is no issue, shipping displays and all is fine.

Can anyone help me with this, if not I may have to rebuild the shop from the ground up, and there are alot of mods in it, so its gona be hard work.

Many thanks in advance.

Summary of issues.

1. Stock not removed when items purchased (intermitent issue)
2. Some items when added to cart miss shipping completely but checkout works.

Default RE: Shipping page skipped on certain products

OK I managed to figure this one out. It turns out (I had forgotten this) to get the shipping the way she wanted, it meant each item had to have a weight in it, though the shipping was not calculated by weight, if no weight was entered and the default of 0.00 was left, the item would ship for free, lol.

I had, at the time altered the db table to use the default of 0.01 which meant as she added items to the cart, the default value would be setup with a 0.01 weight, meaning all would work fine.

Now, what can have changed this. The table still has the default value I setup a long time ago, but now it does not appear to be working, and nothing on the site has changed at all.
