    Default Removing thumbnails of products?

I hope someone can help me with this question. Is there a way to remove the thumbnails of a category and have the program to take them directly to a column of maybe 5-10 products with the descriptions and the add to cart option below each one?
I dont know what each contribution does, so, I wouldnt know where to go to make these changes if it was possible.

No, notice how you had to click on the certain product to get to the full description of that product?

Perhaps this will explain it better:

Customer clicks on category, that page results in a row of lets say 10 products that show

    Product 1 title
thumbnail photo of product (thumbnail of photo--clicking results in a page opened in a new window of just the larger product photo)
    Full description of product
Buy now or add to cart button
    <<horizontal line>>>
    Product 2 title
thumbnail photo of product (thumbnail of photo--clicking results in a page opened in a new window of just the larger product photo)
    Full description of product
Buy now or add to cart button

    <<<horizontal line>>>
    Product 3 title
thumbnail photo of product (thumbnail of photo--clicking results in a page opened in a new window of just the larger product photo)
    Full description of product
Buy now or add to cart button

    <<<horizontal line>>>
So and and so on. Does that help?

Maybe someone else can chime in here with an easy solution to what you want to do, but I don't think you can do that too easily. One thing I can tell you is this layout works pretty well with Search Engines and at least for me they are a key part of selling on the net. I've had this store running over 3 years and it works pretty well. I don't know what your selling but for my customer base I get a lot of compliments on the layout. Remember, it needs to be the easiest to work for a broad spectrum of people.

Thanks, the client wants to avoid the customer having to click so many times in order to get to the full description. I hope someone can help with a suggestion.
