Default Adding Category Descriptions in Category List for each Cat.

Does anyone know how to add category descriptions, UNDER the category images in the category listings. That would be the respective description UNDER the images in the Category listings (The Subcats) as diagramed below

Cat image 1 Cat Image 2 Cat Image 3
Cat Title 1 Cat Title 2 Cat Title 3
Cat Desc. 1 Cat Desc. 2 Cat Desc. 3

Just wondering if someone did this, or if there is a mod.
I've searched the forums and mods, so if anyone has seen this, just point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Default RE: Adding Category Descriptions in Category List for each

First, as a designer who works to get high ranking pages in google, I would have to ask you why you would want to do this? I usually put at least a paragraph of relevant text in a category description. This increases the topic based word count for the page and increases it's google positioning. Remember, google is looking to find text that relates to the page title and headings when it indexes. The more data you can include in a category that increases it's relevance the better it indexes. Based on that I wouldn't be keen on trying to use the category description as a short description in the category/sub-category listings. Instead I would consider a 200 character additional field to the category listing that is added specifically for this purpose.

Just my $0.02
