Add items to shopping cart outside store.

Hello there. I found a couple solutions to this but not excatally what I was looking for.

Is there a way to add items to a shopping cart outside the store with the quanity field as well?

Or even better, is there a way to highlight specific items in a box outside of the store. It could display the image,price, desctiptions and any attributes it might have along with the buy button and quanity field.
