Default PayPal Website Payments Pro

I'm told by PayPal that I need to use the PayPal Website Payments Pro module/contribution since that is the type account we have with them - do I install as per the instructions that come with this contribution from osc? Or is there something special I would need to do to my oscmax to install and use?

OR is there some way to use the PayPal IPN module that is already there, with our WPP account with PayPal? I am not sure how these things all work together so if this is a stupid question, forgive me!

thanks again for the help!

Default RE: PayPal Website Payments Pro

Oh come on someone - I put the files in my beyond compare and I obviously cannot just install the paypal module over the bts stuff in the oscmax - so I need some help getting this going. I have the api cert that I downloaded, but I cannot find any instructions on what to name the newly created files and with what extension, I cannot find any instructions about if I can use the IPN module that is already installed with the oscmax with our PayPal account type (of course PayPal says I have to use another module - the one listed in the subject of this post) - I spent more than two hours reading forum posts on osc and paypal and oscmax, pdf manuals from PayPal, and searching the pisspoor PayPal site (say THAT five times fast). At this point, it is worth $ to me if someone can get the thing going for me... Still willing to try it myself if I can just find some instructions.

Here's hoping someone has an idea for me, and thanks again in advance!

I've also tried this, and realized it was beyond my scope of understanding the template system, and just became more confused than ever. I have my paypal stuff all set up and ready to go, but its pointless until I figure this out, or until someone can come up with the solution. I'm not beyond offering some compensation for the completed modification, but there seems to a lack of interest in this... pity, because the paypal integration could get away from the customers having to leave the site to make a payment and causing more confusion in the payment process.
If I figure this out or find someone that has done this, I'll post back here again. Good luck to you.

I became desparate when no one replied to my plea, so I sifted thru the forums here and found someone who can work on this for me, for a price. But they seem reasonably priced, and I'll let you know how it turns out. I found forum member red_fraggle and his outfit to help. I'll post again when he is finished.

I'm disappointed too...

Oh sure - now that we are griping someone wants to help. oh well... Thanks timbrrr for finding those links for him - I didn't get a notify that he had posted, but I sure as hell wouldn't have wanted to find them for him!

Anyhoo, the fella's at red_fraggle's outfit have completed the thing for me and it looks great and seems to work great as well. They have been a huge help even though I paid for it!

Good Luck to you timbrrr and scheinarts!!
