Permission denied in easypopulate.php

I just installed the newest version of OscMAX and am having problems with easypopulate right away. I have used it before, so I know how to use it, but this time it is different. The page displays fine in the admin console, but when I try to upload my files I get a 403 forbidden page that says I do not have permission to access easypopulate.php. So, I chmod 777 to fix that. But it still does not work.

My store runs in the top level, so my temp config looks like:

$tempdir2 = "temp/";

In the admin console I clicked > administrator > file access > catalog > easypopulate.php > store files...this did nothing.

I need to upload my product database of 2600 items so I need to make this work. I don't think my webhost is very knowledgeable about the oscmax distribution, although they are looking into it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Get this, my host had to do something. Some kind of security on apache. It works now! If anyone else has this issue, tell your web host, they might have to do this too.
