USPS module & password

Below is an excerpt from the signup message I received from USPS.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The current documentation refers to a password. Please
ignore all references to password in the documentation. Password is no
longer used or required.

I keep getting the "contact the store manager" message when I try to use the module. I have read all the other posts about USPS problems and have double checked everything. All I am left with is this password issue.

Not sure if you have done this but you MUST contact USPS when you are done testing so they can set you up on their production server. In all cases I left my password BLANK(meaning nothing entered, all text deleted) when setting up the option . Make sure you choose production server. If this does not work for you then you have probably modified something else and I wouldn't be able to help you because I am fairly new to PHP and have not come across this problem. Hope this helps you.
