RE: user accounts without email? I don't think this is an option that most people want. It more securtity to have emails (one more point of communication available to contact your customer). It also helps reduct fraud! (ONE EMAIL - ONE CUSTOMER - not: may fake accounts with one or many untraceable address/mail box - one scam artist ripping you and the CC companies off)
If you don't want to use accounts there is a PWA - Purchase Without an Account already in osCMax. But still needs an email address to email a copy of there purchase/invoice.

RE: user accounts without email? Ho- BTW - if you have a problem where people are not wanting to give there emails - offer them to sign up with a FREE (disposable) email service (NOT with HOTMAIL) like Yahoo or mail.com (which is the service I use).
MAIL.COM has a TON of email domains to chosse from.
