[osCmax 2.0.15 or Older] KissMT Meta Tags--- Anyone Successfully Installed This on 2.0?

Hi,

I'm trying to get FWR Media's KissMT Dynamic Meta Tags contribution to work with my heavily customized osCMax 2.0 RC3 store, primarily for the h1 tag capabilities but also because it seems to do a better job overall than the old cDynamic Meta Tags contrib (I think this is the meta tag contrib originally installed).

Has anyone managed to get this working, and if so, could you get me started in the right direction? I vaguely recall there was an old thread on the forums regarding this, but most of those seem to have disappeared....

I have it installed on shop.oscmax.com but on oscmax v2.5.1. It should be the same basic install though.

None of the old threads have disappeared, probably just not searching the right terms...can be tricky sometimes especially if the OP didn't put enough relevant terms in their title.

Is KissMT meta tags much beta than what we have? If so, should we be switching?

I'm not sure what meta tag system the current osCMax version is using as I'm still using 2.0 RC3 for my marine electronics site (Marinetech Na Premiere Marine Store for Marine Electronics Boat Accessories and Marine Supplies) for various reasons, but I think FWR Media's KissMT Meta Tags does a much better job than the old cDynamic Meta Tags contrib. I have KissMT running with the optional add-ons (admin-based controls, H1 tags for page headings, google breadcrumbs, etc.) on another osC2.2 RC2A site (Camping Equipment Firearm Accessories Ammunition and Shooting Supplies - Outdoor and Camping Equipment Store for Ammunition Hunting Gear Shooting Supplies Firearm Accessories and Outdoor Gear) after running cDynamic Meta Tags for years, and think it's a huge improvement. The title and description for the home page are static (write your own), but everything else (category pages, product pages, etc.) is created dynamically the same as cDynamic did, but it gives much better control in terms of title length, description length, and number of keywords, plus outputs canonical tags to remove duplicate search engine index entries and prevent osC session ID entries. The optional add-ons include the conversion of page headings from default TD tags to H1 tags, which by most reports are more "google-friendly".

By just uploading a few new files and making one change on the main_page.tpl.php file for my osCMax site, I have the homepage, category pages, article directory, etc. showing what I think are very good meta tags. I'm thinking the product page tags should be generated as well, but believe I have a previous coding error preventing this (they evidently weren't being generated for some time by cDynamic Meta Tags either, and I wasn't and am still not getting the product name in the navbar breadcrumb trail-- just Home>Category>Subcategory, which is probably related to the same problem). I'll probably have to get some coding help to get that problem resolved as well as installing the optional add-ons, which are not as simple an install.
