Default Sending visitors to an affiliate offer.

In my industry, there are some products that I can't compete with in terms of low price, but my website comes up at the top of the search results for these products. Despite being in the top search results, nobody buys from me because other sites sell for less.

My idea is to turn these products on my site into affiliate offers. Basically, what I'd be doing is sending them directly to my competition. I hate the idea of that, but they are buying from my competitors anyway so I'd like to make a few bucks on the deal if possible. I've searched the osC contributions for affiliate products, but can't find anything to suit my needs. Anyone have any ideas or best practices on how to incorporate affiliate offers into a product info page?

Use the product URL feature. Set the quantity to something weird like -50.

Then tweak product info to show a buy now with the url to the competitor product with affiliate link in it when stock level is = -50.

    Job done!

Given that Contact For Price uses -1 in the Product Price, then you may wish to use -2 to activate the URL redirection, rather than the stock level.

But then you couldn't put your competitors price in!

Good Point! But... unless you had a dynamic link to the price, then you'd need to manually update prices, to keep them inline with the 'parent' site. What a pain that'd be.
IMO, better just to not display a price, lure the punters into your site and hook 'em with your fantastic 'Max site and excellent customer support.
