Shopping cart does not merge quantity of the same item properly after login

I found a bug that I can't seem to find it reported anywhere. My OSCMax version is 2.0.25 and attribute tracking is on. This problem occurs only when adding the same item to the shopping cart after login. Say we have the following items saved in shopping cart of an account: 1x abc and 3x efg. Without login, we add 1x efg and 2x xyz to the cart. After login, two carts merge and result becomes 1x abc, 1x efg and 2x xyz. Doesn't the quantity for item efg suppose to be 4x instead of just replacing it with whatever quantity is in the cart?

Interesting one but it does depend on your point of view.
Does one assume that once the customer logs in, they make their decisions on what to purchase and the second quantity value is the correct one? (...as well as put their name/address in Proper Case ).

Probably, we should have a warning to say that the amount for that particular item has been changed.
Did they mean to amend the order to one, or did they actually want to just add another item to the previous list?

Note: When I remember, I put a "messageStack" warning to Update the cart/basket if quantities are changed.
Placed just above the table of items, this helps to highlight to the customer, to check the quantites (a subliminal message?).

I just think it makes more sense to sum up the quantity even though very likely customers forgot what was in the previous shopping cart, since it is said to "merge". No?
