unused files

hi all

was wondering what the deal is with deleting unused files. I am not going to be using the affiliates stuff at this stage and wondered if i could just delete all the files. I asked a friend who as an OSCMax site up and running and he said he just left all unused files to be on the safe side. However, i noticed that on his site I could get to files that he wasn't using - this didn't seem like the best option.

what does everyone else do/recommend?

You can remove them if you want ... I assume your friend hasn't left links to them on their site ... it is just if you type in the URL you can get to them.

They shouldn't do any harm leaving them (and this would allow you to use them in the future if your requirements change) but if you really want shot of them I would rename them first just to make sure before you delete.

All in all, I would leave them alone.
