Shopping cart not updating properly

Hi,

I just looked through a lot of posts and didn't see this - sorry if I missed it.

This is kind of confusing - most of the time the shopping cart works just fine, except when a customer continues shopping and buys another product from the same category, Then it increases the first item by one instead of adding the new one.

Here is a more detailed example using a product:
go to this product page - and purchase any product.
It will take you to the “What’s In My Cart” page and it shows the product in the cart. Now, click on “Continue Shopping”. It takes you back to the Product Category. Click on “Buy Now” for A DIFFERENT product in that same Category.

HUGE ERROR – Rather than adding the second product to their cart, the cart adds another one of the original product, showing two of the same product and not acknowledging their new selection. They are not allowed to purchase another product in that same category. If they attempt to purchase another product in that same category, the store store just keeps adding more of the first product they purchased.

Note: The store does function properly if each purchase is from a different category. It just does not allow two different products in the same category to be purchased.

The template was recently changed, but I went back to the original tmplate and the same problem is there. I am assuming this has always been a problem, but we never knew it.
