display subcategories in category box on all pages

hi all

newbie so hope i am posting in the right place. whilst googling have seen lots of people asking how to do this but no answers.

basically i want a standard left nav using the categories box - but i want the top level categories not to be clickable and the subcategories always to be visible, ie rather than just on nested pages.

i started out using oscommerce and did find a contribution that allowed me to do this - but as the files have changed so much in OSCMax I am unable to use this (due to my lack of knowledge probably).

would be really greatful if anyone could help as this does seem to be a question asked by many and left unanswered.

hi - yes exactly like that - the code would be great if you can find it - i want to remove the link from the top level but i'm sure i could work that out

catalog/includes/boxes/categories.php - save a copy of the original!!!
No guarantees/support whatsoever (support is what my clients get )
categories.php.zip - you may need to use 7zip, or similar.

Also, look in catalog/includes/langauges/english.php (assuming 'Max 2.0.xx) and search/remove the word 'Top', leaving the single quotes.
