Default Check Permissions modification for v2.5beta3

    Hi All

I am not sure where to post a contrib so I've placed it on my blog site for the moment.

I've taken the Check Permissions v1.3 from the oscMax site and updated it:

added the 2.5 .css calls so that it presents correctly
    modified the install instructions (minor)
added a database read/write for default file/dir permissions so that the user can modify the permission settings from within the admin page and store them

I've tested as much as I can and I'd appreciate some feedback that it works for someone else.

You can get a copy from Tonys Tech Blog » Blog Archive » oscMax Check Permissions add-on update for v2.5

    cheers
    Tony

    Hi Tony,

Welcome to osCmax! Nice to see people working on the extra modules for osCmax and even documenting them in the wiki! I have done a couple of small edits to your wiki entry to be consistent with the rest (mainly switches oscMax to osCmax ... ) - hope you don't mind ...

I have also added a section to the v2.5 namespace in the wiki for Additional Modules

    Regards,
    pgmarshall

We do - it's called Projects.

    Hi

I have made one small change to the Check Permissions. I had left the configuration_group_id as '1' in the update query at line 40. I have changed this to '0' so that the edit option does not appear in the Admin for My Store. Is there a classification for 'do not display' or another option that I should use in the configuration process?

As an aside, is there direct access to Projects for file uploads or a process for the unwashed masses to provide our input?

    cheers
    Tony

Thumbs up Re: Check Permissions modification for v2.5beta3

Hopefully Michael_S will respond. It appears that since the osCmax website update, there is no provision to add to, or create a new Project.
    That's why it ain't obvious.

Right on the site's home page in the main menu on the left. If you are in the forums, click Home at the top first, then:

    Create Content >> Project

Click on Project and create it. There, pretty easy right? All new projects are manually reviewed prior to approval.

I'm definitely going senile! Still can't see it:

Eureka! Need to login (again) on that screen, then the option appears. D'oh!

Yes, you need to be logged in. We only let riff-raff that we know post projects. Anonymous riff-raff get the boot.

Thanks. I'll see if I can be known riff-raff from now on.

Ok, is there a version number protocol?

    Check Permissions 1.3 update to 1.4 or 2.5 or 1.3.1 ?

I used 2.5 as it seemed clearer but....
