    Default Hide "access denied" menubox/file links in the admin panels

    Some member groups don't have access to all the entries/files in the admin panel. Is there a known way to only show the links that are accessible to the user that is logged in to osCMax administration?

    I dunno, something like:

    For (x from zero to sizeof($numberoflinks)) {
    If $admin_group_id equal to $current_user_id { tep_show_the_ #$#%$#_link . '!' }
    }

    Yes, that is what I mean, and it is in 2.0.25 also. You can restrict access. But the files you restrict-access-to still show in the menus, so users get "access denied" to pages they do not have access to. Why not take out those links in the menu (the ones a user does not have permission for)?

    Can you give me a couple of examples to test?

    This hasn't been asked before so... put it in as a feature request for 2.6

    The admin menu system should be able to restrict by user group level - I know a few of these have been hard coded due to time constraints ... which may be the issue ...

    Or, are you trying to restrict individual specific buttons within osCmax? (eg. Delete, Edit, etc.) This has been discussed by the developers but not progress so would be v2.6 or more ...

    If it is the first issue then please post it in the bugtracker ... if it is the second you can post it in the bugtracker but use "feature request" and post it to the v2.6 version ... it will then get reviewed ...

    PGM, I get where the OP comes from.
    In true HCI fashion, menu items shouldn't be viewable if unable to be accessed.
    A very valid request, which surprisingly hasn't been asked for before, AFAIK.

    Had a quick look and this should work fine! Configuration is the only one that might not ... But then I figured the configuration menu as a whole is either on or off.

    Can you give a couple of examples for me to test.

    Thanks.

    Configuration is a key one.

    Administrative Groups:
    Super Users - access all areas.
    Sales Admin - all shop activities including EP, reports, pre-made comments. Taxes. Affiliates. etc. (i.e. no major/key setup features, such as Configuration)
    Sales - only Catalog (Categories/Products and associated menus), Customers/Orders.

    I can foresee that some items in Tools would be better off moved to another place, to split away from 'daily' shop activities - cache, backup (better handled by cron/system) and Server info, for examples.
