Default Top / Catalog page issue

    Hi,
    I have 2 sites on OSCmax V2.0.25
On one which I started a few months ago Martial-Arts-Supplies.co.uk : I have the 'Top' page as I want it, with a random display of products.
On the 2nd site, which I have just started building EddiesTeddies.co.uk : my 'Top' page keeps defaulting to 'Catalog'. This may be because I added an index.php to my public_html but without this I was getting this showing

    Index of/
    ftpquota
    catalog/
    cgi-bin/

I cant for the life of me figure out how I got around this with the martial arts site, my notes are not what they should be.
    Any help out there?
    Niall

If not intending to use Top, remove it from the includes/languages/english.php file by only having two single quotes.

    Hi,
I do want to use 'Top' as per www.martial-arts-supplies.co.uk which takes visitors to my front/home/top page (whatever name you want to use), I just cant remember how I got that to work so I can replicate it for www.eddiesteddies.co.uk

Theoretically one would remove the whole "top" from the breadcrumb trail, and use the "catalog" Link as to be the "Home Page" link.

The normal installation of osCOmmerce has Top -> Catalog displayed in the breadcrumb trail The suggested way to change this is to make just state Home. The following instructions will accomplish this:

-Open the includes/languages/english.php file in your editor.
-Find the line that contains HEADER_TITLE_CATALOG
    -Change that line so it looks like this: define('HEADER_TITLE_CATALOG', 'Home');
-Open the includes/application_top.php file in your editor, find the code $breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_TOP, HTTP_SERVER); and remove it.

Now Your breadcrumb trail will start with "Home"

    Hi,
appreciate your responses, but I am not trying to get rid of 'Top' I want people to arrive at that page.
If you click on first site www.martial-arts-supplies.co.uk you arrive at the url clicked, but if you click www.eddiesteddies.co.uk you are taken to www.eddiesteddies.co.uk/catalog
This is because I had to set up a divert in index.php as the eddiesteddies 'Top' page was showing this
    Index of/
    ftpquota
    catalog
    cgi-bin
I had this same issue with the martial arts site but managed to fix it, however I cant remember how I did it.

Look at the top level index.php of the martial arts site

Its nothing like the top level index.php for eddies teddies, in fact eddies teddies has much fewer files than martial arts even tho I only downloaded martial arts in sept last

Just comparing the 2 sites original files and noticed that www.martial-arts-supplies.co.uk is using v2.0.25_0 and www.eddiesteddies.co.uk is on v2.0.25_1 which probably explains the different file structures, but doesnt help resolve my problem.
Anyone else used v2.0.25_1 or knows a fix for this?
