Good way to mass adjust the stock.

My customer has items that aren't do in till April but wants the full product description to still show up, just not let them buy anything. Currently the site is not tracking stock, so I thought I would just increase the stock on all the items excepet the ones that are on backorder, and set the store to not allow purchase of items with 0 stock. Problem is I don't know where the best place to do a mass stock adjust. If I go to phpMyadmin the stock table doesn't let me browse it, besides I don't think its the best idea to change it there.

If anyone has a good way to do this or another solution for me, I would appreciate it.

There is an oscommerce admin contribution that may do what you need. Many of the osc admin contribs can be integrated into oscmax pretty easily...

Or just use EasyPopulate. Admin -> Catalog -> EasyPopulate. Read the wiki first!

I have tried easy populate before but I found it not so easy. I don't want to bugger up the whole thing. Thanks for the ideas I will check them out and report back.
