Would you like this in 2.5? I mean we could slow down the release to add it.
Or maybe, you could take the 2.5-Beta release and figure out how to put it in, and add it as a 2.5 contribution once done. Then maybe in 2.5.1 it might be rolled in to the release. That way everyone who is using 2.5 will be able to add YOUR contribution, and if there is enough feedback that people like it, the development team will roll it up into the next release.

Did I mention I was asking for it to be incorporated in to version 2.5? Didn't think so. Did I imply it should be added to version 2.5? Didn't think so. Lets start back at square 1. Feature request... A feature request is just that. A simple request to have a feature added at some point.
Then you say I should add it? How do you know my abilities or inabilities? Which I'll bring you up to speed on since you are assuming incorrectly, is that I can do simple modification additions but have zero PHP experience thus when code over laps due to code additions then I can't proceed further.
It is snippy replies like this from a staff member that make my desire to help test, report bugs and make suggestions to help improve the product to NIL.
The again OSCMax has NO contribution section. So even if I was able to make the necessary code changes there is NO place for it to be submitted. Ooops I made another suggestion, MY BAD...

1) Okay, so I was a bit snippy, but it's been along week (with a sick kid at home). It is snippy replies like this from a staff member that make my desire to help test, report bugs and make suggestions to help improve the product to NIL.
2) There is no "staff member". There are a bunch of people that GIVE their time to this open source project. Excuse me if I get snippy again, but you assumption that there are a bunch of people here making money and getting paid is an interesting fantasy at best. If your desire to "help" is driven by anything other than your own altruistic motives, then you have other issues to deal with rather than a snippy reply.
3) I have clients who don't know how to code (one of them is on the forums here; Cabana). They actually pay me to code for them. They find something at the OSC forums and then ask me to incorporate it into their store and then they pay me to do so. Or, since I run a store myself I tell them what I am doing and they ask for me to do it for them as well (generally for free since I'm going to release it publicly as part of my osCmax solution). Thus, if you have a need for a specific feature added to the code, then may I suggest that you either learn PHP and how osCMax is built, or pay someone to do it. Then, after it has been done, release it to the world. Then you say I should add it? How do you know my abilities or inabilities? Which I'll bring you up to speed on since you are assuming incorrectly, is that I can do simple modification additions but have zero PHP experience thus when code over laps due to code additions then I can't proceed further.
4) go to your profile, see you can upload attachments (including zip files). Upload a zip file... start a topic on what's in it. Bingo, you have made a contribution to the community. (yes, there should be a better way, but that's how it is done now)The again OSCMax has NO contribution section. So even if I was able to make the necessary code changes there is NO place for it to be submitted
As for the feature request... let's consider that while this has been around for a while, it doesn't address a great number of issues that I would consider before adding it in (in other words, as a developer I would vote against adding it in). Now, I'm only one voice in this very large forum, and also only one voice in the land of "development", so if you would like to convince me that there is some functionality here that should be part of the core product, I would be more than happy to listen. But just saying, I wish that this osc contrib is part of the core, well, that's interesting and all, but it's not real motivational as to why it should be added and not. For instance "Your Recent History 2.0" and "Recently Viewed Products" were both considered by the development team for inclusion in V2.5. Both were NOT included (2 yes's, 3 maybe's on one, and 2 no's and three maybe's on the other). In some cases there is a great deal of discussion as to what contribs are to be added, and why they will or won't be. If YOU feel that this contrib should be in a forthcoming release of the core, then the best way get it there is create it as a osCmax contrib and have lots of people use it and say it's valuable.
This isn't meant to continue to be snippy, it is meant to be somewhat instructional as to how you can best meet your desire to get some functionality that you want into the maintained core of the product.

[There is a section called Customisation/Mods, where I for one, have uploaded some features for the community. Goes back to earning less than social benefits/minimum wage.]

I too have submitted several osCmax mods and contribution here. Maybe you have not looked very hard.
From us Moderators - like me: Please - we are all adults here (or for most of us-close enough). This is a peer-to-peer forum. No one gets paid to help people on the forum or to submit Modification/bugs/features. Coding skills vary from NIL to expert - so mileage may vary accordingly. There is no such thing as a stupid/bad question....answers quality may also vary.
Features suggested are numerous and getting to be more and more complex to add in (as we modify code that been modified and added to over the years). We have to pick and choose which ones to add - which ones conflict/duplicate/overlap other features. Just cause something is requested - does not necessarily mean it will be added in the next release. We can try for a release - but can't guarantee IF or WHEN.
Hopefully I will be back more often now that I am not so ill.

PS: Just becuase you don't like some one's tone - does not mean you should Flag it as "Innappropriate reply to a simple post." - We will only act if abusive or a violation board rules.

Again MORE assuptions that are pointless, baseless and have no merrit.
The only thing that was posted and matters is I hope your kid feels well soon and has a safe and happy holiday.

Yikes, what assumptions? Considering all the time I spent putting together a long explanation of YOUR points, as well as a detailed explanation of what happens in the development process so you would understand HOW something makes it into the core, I thought the post was the anti-snippy response. What you choose to take away from it is up to you, but there was no reason to be rude.
jpf. Glad to hear your doing better, as always hope to see more of you here.![]()

This is about a far from the truth as you can get.Excuse me if I get snippy again, but you assumption that there are a bunch of people here making money and getting paid is an interesting fantasy at best. Met, can we agree to disagreee on this and move on to more imortant things.
