little bit embarrasing - can't find template folder

Hi all, I am new to osCMax and I am working my way through it. I have downloaded and installed NT23 template and guess what, Cannot fond the template folder anywhere so I can start modifying the home page etc. There is a Catalog folder and all of the sub folders but for the life of me cannot find template folder and main_page.tpl.php

What is NT23 template? Most likely it is for standard osCommerce, so there will not be a template folder. It is just a pre-designed full store.

Don't worry! We have to start somewhere - I remember not so long ago being in the same place.

Templates are located in catalog/templates/[your template]/content/

Thanks for the response from both of you guys. Yes it is a pre-designed store from oscommercecafe and there is no template folder. The folder structure is;
catalog;
admin
download
ext
images
includes
pub


and I have been through the lot anc cannot find any folder hat says template or the main_page.tpl.php file

That means it is standard osCommerce and not osCmax. There are no template folders in standard osCommerce.

OK, so does that mean I have installed a sub standard template and I have created dramas for myself. Would it be better to install an oscMax template. What are the benefits or downside of this?

Michael, also. When I go to the link Template store and click on oscmax templates it is blank. Where do I find the oscmax templates. I have tried several different browsers so it is not a JAVA issue.

There are currently no templates for oscmax in the template store. Our provider discontinued them.

As for your template, it is not osCmax, it is osCommerce, so it will not have any of the features included in osCmax.

All it is is a standard osCommerce store that has had its style and graphics modified. Not really a true template at all.

Bummer. That's not quite what I wanted to hear but I have chosen osCMax as it seems to be the pick. Can you steer me towards a good site for reasonable osCMax templates.

Why not have a quick look at the fallback one that comes with v2.5 (still in alpha at the moment).



Tailoring a template is pretty easy stuff and you will end up with a much better result than the vast majority of purchased templates.
