A New Splash Opening Page that Won't Splash?

First post ever so please make allowances.

How do I insert a new 'opening' in osCMAX? Forum references seem to be to new 'dynamic' pages or adding static pages to info boxes.

All I want to do is to add a new opening page which customers see before they are taken into the catalog.

Grateful for any help or suggestions.

If you chose the defaults when installing 'Max, then it will be in catalog. Create your own opening page one level above that, with your own content.
Example:
public_html/index.php or public_html/index.html <--- your content.
public_html/catalog/index.php <--- osCmax main page (Admin; Define Mainpage).

Create a link in your index page to 'Max (assuming an html document):

<a href="catalog/index.php" alt="Shop here">Click to enter shop</a>

Basic website stuff.
