    Default Easy Populate Image Issue

I have populated a new site with easy poulate and uploaded the images via FTP (Dreamwever). I used a category structure for the images such as
    images/baseball/gloves/glove1.jpg
    images/baseball/bats/bat1.jpg

When i go into admin and view a product it shows the image path just fine but none of my images are showing up, yet if I upload an image through the admin it works fine.

Is there something else I need to do?

Dreamweaver! (The amount of 'issues' from people who use it for ecommerce is pretty telling)
Try Filezilla - a proper FTP client.
    Anyways...

In EP your image file should be defined as, for example baseball/gloves/glove1.jpg
[It's so easy to right-click on an image to see where it resides on the server - this should be a clue.]
Are you deliberately trying to bypass the thumbnail/images_big feature? (Rhetorical.)
Remember to resize your images to a sensible size before uploading to images/thumbs/baseball/gloves/glove1.jpg, to use the same example. See the wiki for more detail.

If I right click on an image (where ther should be one anyway) it gives me a path of /images/thumbs/sports/baseball_gear/aluminum_bats/fastcat.jpg
I cant even click on it to bring up the larger image.
I used WS FTP to upload this time and I can go to that directory and see the image is there.
Now I also loaded them into images_big and still nothing.

"Are you deliberately trying to bypass the thumbnail/images_big feature?"
No just not very expirienced at this mod

[In EP, your image should be referenced as sports/baseball_gear/aluminum_bats/fastcat.jpg
Note: Multi-level 'categories' aren't tested/supported in Admin. and all 'sports', for example, should be in the one sub-directory of thumbs & images_big.]

Thank you, I got it working.
One more question, what if I want to link to images on another server. Can MO PICS do that?

This is not a recommended way to utilise further images (to answer you specifically, MoPics is for 'locally-based' images).

There is nothing to stop you from referencing external images in your description by manually incorporating them, though it's not recommended either:

    • Stealing resources/bandwidth from a 3rd party (known as hotlinking and blocked by some, m'self included).
    • SSL warning messages unless the external URL is an https site.
    • External images could change/be deleted at any time
Gain permission to retrieve the external images from the owner and host locally.
